Revel-8 calls the curious, Entertenment ,

Revel-8 kicks off this year with its most exciting theme yet – Curiosity.

It’s human nature to enquire and question, so this year Revel-8 invites filmmakers to be inquisitive and explore quirky, weird and down right curious characters, stories and styles, on a single cartridge of Super 8 film.

To be eligible for the screening, Australian filmmakers send one cartridge of unedited, unprocessed Super 8 to Revel-8, who will get it processed and hand the best 20 films to the fantastic WA Academy of Performing Arts composers. The film can be a drama, documentary, experimental or animation and must explore the theme, Curiosity.

Everything will come together at the Astor cinema on the 9th of July 2010 as part of the Revelation Film Festival. As always, there’ll be awards presented on the night including Best Film, Best Music Soundtrack, Audience Choice Award and more!

This year also marks the end of an era, with processing of the fabulous Kodachrome 40 ending this year, so if you are sitting on stock, now could be your last chance to make the most of it.

As a special incentive, prepaying your registration fee will earn you a free Super 8 cartridge at no additional cost (while stocks last). Email super8guru@gmail.com to reserve your stock!

Entry forms and a help guide is available here

Entries close 28th of May, so get revved up!
